** In this video, Mr. Calvert specifically stated that he does NOT and we will NOT be able to find any statistics to prove what we are after. We are just asking for proof of success and that this iAchieve program is NOT just a "hope" for success. If we can not even show a chance of success with 2nd to 8th graders, why are we spending $18.2 million?

**Just like to cover a few points presented by the first speaker in favor of iPads
- We NEVER said anything about using bond money for teachers' pay.
- We NEVER said we were going to switch to laptops, instead let's upgrade to Windows 7, upgrade the speed of our system, purchase new computers, etc.
- Just because teachers have the same strategies, does not necessarily mean that the teacher will be effective with them. We believe every teacher is different, and in so far that they are, each teacher has a different method of connecting with his/her students.
- Instant input does NOT guarantee that the student will be able to comprehend it the second time it is taught. Just as many students failed the first test, and failed the re-test, many students will fail the second evaluation via iPads. Same results, and no change.
- Helping individual students is something that a teacher has to invest his/her time into doing. At the high school level we have before/after school tutorials because teachers are incapable of focusing on one student in class (class sizes are simply too large). Once again, same results, and no change.
- Technology will challenge students and make them excited. Many of us know, students will try to break the system. It was done once at Clements via an online gaming site, it can easily be done again. The Apple mission statement states: "Apple has reinvented the mobile phone with its revolutionary iPhone and App Store, and is defining the future of mobile media and computing devices with iPad." Not a SINGLE mention of educational purposes, so students can be compelled to play Angry Birds, TempleRun, etc.
- Referring to Dulles HS, IF Dulles is successful, using high school students to compare to middle and elementary school students does not garner a proper comparison. These are different types of students. However, ask any Dulles student, iPads were taken up due to the playing of games during class and not for educational purposes.
